Vessel is an internal dialogue about self identity.
Through these 12 works, Davis has created an open ended conversation by dissecting one’s characteristics and reimagining them into multiple visual forms of the body, face, animals and pottery.
Vessel is a work of duality, being placed with an “inner to outer” layout that is used to see what side of the work the viewer will gravitate towards over the other, and how the paired content reinforces its opposing question.
As an interdisciplinary artist, Davis has long believed that his visual arts practice and his music pursuits nurture each other equally, and has considered how to merge the two worlds together. Davis has furthered this open dialogue format by inviting Rolle, a local Miami DJ to respond to the visual works and create sounds that reflect these internalizations through a live set performance. Accompanying the 12 works of Vessel are the curated sounds of Archy Marshal’s “A New Place 2 Drown '', DJ Harrisons’ “Stashboxx”, to convey the feelings of introspection and shadow work.
